After the Sugar-Free Challenge, I found myself choosing healthier snack/dessert options this week. I have really become a fan of Larabar Apple Pie, Lemon Bar, and Coconut Cream Pie as a healthier replacement when I crave something sweet. I was down 1.1 pounds this week breaking through the 50-pound mark and winning the challenge with my wife. As a result, I get to pick where we go on our 20th wedding anniversary this Summer. Where should we go?
Doing the Sugar-Free Challenge really helped me get back on track with weight loss. During the challenge, I kept a food diary and tracked my nutrition every day. That was a great reminder of the value of a food diary (I’ve done it before, but not regularly.) Last week, I kept my diary in Evernote and at the end of the day went back and looked up the nutrition info. I know there are a lot better tools, but that was the easiest for my situation at the time – I didn’t want to try to learn a new app. This week, I decided that I wanted to continue this going forward, so I tried a number of the apps available for my phone. I settled on one called MyNetDiary and after I use it for a while, I will report back on my thoughts.
I weighed in today at 292.7 pounds, down 1.1 pounds from last week. Here are all the additional details from my iHealth Core wireless scale:
