Doing the Sugar-Free Challenge this week has been a great way to get the pounds melting off again. I was down 12.2 pounds this week breaking through the 300-pound barrier and getting to 293.8. That is 49.4 pounds in 12 weeks! Unfortunately, 0.6 short of the challenge with my wife.
Last week I said:
“I worked hard this week and I don’t feel like I overate, so what is different?”
My theory is that consumption of sugar – even though it wasn’t excessive – was what was holding me back. This week I did not workout very hard – I only got in one workout. I did, however, set out to eliminate sugar with the Sugar-Free Challenge and I saw significant results. I don’t think this is a coincidence. As I mentioned last week, I highly recommend watching the documentary That Sugar Film for a lot more details on the impact of sugar in our bodies.
We went to the beach over the holidays and on New Year’s Eve, my wife and I were discussing our 2017 goals. One of mine was to get to my goal in weight loss this year. That means getting to 240 pounds this year. As of today, I am 53.8 pounds away. This week has been a great motivation to keep going toward my goal.
I weighed in today at 293.8 pounds, down 12.2 pounds from last week. Oddly, my other measurements were all weird. That wasn’t the case the day before, so I’m thinking it is an anomaly. Here are all the additional details from my iHealth Core wireless scale:
