My challenge this week is to complete a 5 day cleanse. Day 3 was much better than day 2 – feeling better and losing more weight!

Today I was not as thirsty as the previous days and the only symptom left from the flu symptoms I had yesterday is a light cough. Still not sure if that is from the cleanse or my daughter. I didn’t feel sore at all today, but I do not have a whole lot of energy. I had my Digest + Cleanse™, my Pure Protein Complete shake, and my Ningxia Red around 8:00, 1:00, and 7:00 today. At around 3:00 I had a small handful of cashews as a snack.

Body Heat

My biggest issue today has been body heat. I am not normally someone who is cold – my body usually generates lots of heat. On the first day my feet and hands were cold, on the second day it only got worse, and today I just could not get my body warm. I did a little research on the topic of thermoregulation and a slowed metabolism is one of the reasons listed. I’m pretty sure my significantly reduced caloric intake is what is causing this. I’ve spent almost all day with wool socks on and a wool blanket over me.

Midway Point

One of the things I have been asking myself all week is ‘why am I doing this’? I’ve been reading a lot of research about cleanses and trying to wrestle with what I hope to get out of this. Obviously, there is weight loss, but today was really interesting to me as I drank my 3 shakes at the appropriate times today because I know that I need to and not because I wanted to. The mind games for me with food is a big issue – stress eating, entitlement issues, etc. If I come out of this with a better perspective on eating then that would be great.
