This morning I weighed in at 329.1. That is down 6.2 pounds this week, not as good as last week, but still pretty awesome! I have to say that seeing another digit fall and being in the ’20s was very satisfying, even if it was just barely. That brings my total to 13.9 pounds after two weeks.
This week has been tougher than the first week. I hadn’t warned my wife that I was doing this and so she only had 1 bottle of Ningxia Red in the house when I started. As a result, we ran out this week. She already had an order in for more, but we both had to go 4 days without NingXia Red. For me, it definitely made a difference in my cravings as I was a lot hungrier. I also found myself not being satisfied and eating larger portions as well. I tried just drinking more water, but it did not help. I was very glad to see a new shipment arrive and it was confirmation that this drink will be a staple of my plan.
I laid out a few rules when I started this two weeks ago and captured them on My Health Journey Plan page. I’m very happy to report that after 2 weeks, I have still not had any soda (or sweet tea.) I have definitely eaten more fruits and vegetables, but this is an area where it wasn’t hard to improve and I am still far short of a ‘good’ level. I have also cut out the bread before meals. There have been a few questionable situations with bread – one night we had croissants and I decided to put my chicken on the croissant and call it a sandwich. I’m not sure where that one falls, but my results are still positive so I’ll allow it for now. Cutting back more on bread may be in my future.
I now have a big challenge to take on, so I’m considering a few ideas to amp it up a bit. Stay tuned…
